WACH  Committee

The WATCH Committee (Working All Together Caring & Helping through the Cross) was set up by the Kirk Session in 1991 with the specific remit to support and raise awareness of local charities. Since then the committee has raised funds for many local causes including

Capability Scotland                           Richmond’s Hope

Cystic Fibrosis                                  Disability Snowsport UK

Down’s Syndrome                            The Yard Adventure Centre

Motor Neurone Disease                   Erskine Edinburgh Home

Parkinson’s Disease                        Teenage Cancer Trust

Rock Trust                                        Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

Fresh Start

The charity chosen by the WATCH Committee in 2017 is the Clowndoctors project which is part of the Hearts and Minds charity (SC027040). We will fully fund the specialised training of two Clowndoctors at a cost of £4,000 and any additional funds raised will go to the church project Building for the Future which is featured elsewhere on this website.

During July and August the summer coin collection raised the marvellous sum of £864.04. The Committee wish to thank all who contributed to this great effort.

The Craft Coffee Morning held on Saturday 7th October was well supported by the congregation and friends raising £840.00.

Our next event will be the Christmas Fair which will take place on Saturday 2nd December at 2.00pm.

Last year we were able to hand over a cheque for £10,000 to Carol Jones, Scottish Organiser for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. This allowed us to name a puppy and Umba is now in training.
