Saturday 6th September: Music at St. Columba’s- Resol Quartet
Please join us in the sanctuary between 12noon and 1:30pm for the return of this talented quartet who were trained at the Scottish Conservatoire. No ticket required but donations for the musicians would be appreciated.
Saturday 20th September: ‘All aboard the Queen Elizabeth!’ followed by our family quiz
Join us in the sanctuary at 7pm to hear Rev. Fergus Cook share his experiences as a chaplain with the Royal Naval Reserve recently on the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier. The second half of the evening will take the form of a fun, family quiz to test your little grey cells. There is no charge for this event and no tickets are required but donations towards the refreshments and treats will be gratefully received.
Saturday 27th September: Craft Coffee Morning
All are welcome at the WATCH Committee craft coffee morning between 10am and 12noon in aid their chosen charity of the year - Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity. Entry costs £4.00.
Sunday 12th October: Harvest lunch
This will take place after the Harvest Service in the large hall. It will be a wonderful way to share what the Lord has provided with friends old and new. Further details will follow at a later date.
Saturday 25th October: Music@St.Columba’s - Lucy Farrimond
Please join us in the sanctuary between 7pm and 8:45pm to enjoy hearing Lucy Farrimond who will sing and play a mix of classical and folk music. Refreshments will be served and, while there is no charge for the event and no tickets are required, donations will be gratefully received.
Saturday 8th November: Music@St.Columba’s - Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra
Please join us in the sanctuary from 6:30 pm for a 7pm start (to 9pm) to enjoy a 50 strong mandolin and guitar orchestra. Come along and bring a friend. Refreshments will be served and donations will be gratefully received.
Wednesday 26th November 2 – 4pm: Afternoon Tea Dance
Blackhall St Columba’s Scottish Country Dancers invite you to a St Andrews themed Afternoon Tea Dance. 80 tickets @£5 for ECHC.
Saturday 29th November: Christmas Fair
Our annual WATCH Committee Christmas Fair will take place throughout the church buildings between 2pm and 4pm. Expect all the usual stalls and come along with your friends to start your celebrations early while contributing to an excellent cause: Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
Saturday 6th December: Getting Crafty at Christmas
Come along to the sanctuary between 10am and 12noon to enjoy some festive crafts. Try your hand at creating a beautiful, seasonal table decoration or something at our Christmas craft table. Channel your inner Mary Berry and make your own sweet treat to enjoy later. In order to cater this event and ensure we have enough supplies, please indicate your intention to come along to Shona Cook by 25th November (07981 970054/ shonacook505@gmail.com). There will be a charge of £10 to cover the cost of materials etc. Refreshments will be served.
Thursday 18th December and Friday 19th December: Nativity Trial- A Christmas Celebration
Bring your family and friends along to the church on Thursday 18th between 5pm and 7 pm or Friday 19th December between 4pm and 7pm to experience our third annual Nativity Trail. This year‘s theme is celebration. Once again, we are throwing our doors open to the community to explore the Greatest Story Ever Told and to discover the true meaning of Christmas through our Trail and Escape Room. There will be crafts and refreshments available too. No tickets are required. Donations to help cover costs will be gratefully received.
